Bachelor's Life: A Bus Journey

It is said that life is a journey. It is not stagnant and the man keeps on moving from one destination to other with a few respites in his peregrination. Moreover, life is not smooth and in this world every one has to live a checkered life. Treating life as a journey is a broad view and if we examine closely we will find that a bachelor’s life is like a journey in a bus crowded with people of all sorts including beautiful girls. Situations and various incidents that we experience in a bus journey are very similar to those in our real life.

Every time it happens that the bus we want to board on is crowded and we have to struggle a lot to get into it. After a few jostling, we barely manage to get some space to stand. If the person sitting beside us has reached his destination and leaves that seat and we get a seat without any effort then luck factor comes in to picture. The same thing happens in real life also. Most coveted positions are crowded and a lot of efforts are required to secure a niche among those positions. Luck has its own importance but few persons give credit to luck in securing a position. Luck may facilitate our efforts in securing a position but the credit cannot be attributed to it alone. Instead of sitting ideally at that position, if we remain vigilant all the time we can judge when a person is going to disembark either by studying his body language or through our intuition we can easily grab that seat thus turning luck in our favour. In real life also, with the help of our consistent efforts and vision we can easily face adverse situations and fortune turns in our favour. The more vigilant we are and the more efforts we put in, the earlier we will get a seat. The lesser our efforts, the lesser are the chances that we will get a seat early in our journey. Many times it happens that without any effort we get a seat but here as soon as we get a seat, we find that we have reached our destination and you get hardly some time to enjoy the pleasure that entails with the seat. Situation in real life is no different from this. The more efforts we put in our earlier life, the earlier we will fulfill our desires. Every body has the ability to fulfill his desires in his life; it is just a matter of time. Sometimes in the journey it happens that in the bus we did not get a seat when we were in need for the same, and when we got one, we no longer desired for that at that time. We want all the pleasures in early stages of our life and spend our whole life in achieving them with a few efforts and when we achieve them, we no longer desire them.

In this world girls need not take any tension. In buses seats are reserved for them and many times they easily get a seat without any effort. Government takes the responsibility for their welfare. But now a day, as the population is increasing and in a competitive situation all ladies do not get their desired seats and have to wait for sometime at get one. But at the end of the day, the truth is that as the population of females is less than that of males and girls easily get a seat of their choice no matter how. Elucidating the significance of the above situation in real life will be undermining the cognitive powers of all the male bachelors and will be an indignity to our woes.

As soon as we board a bus, each of us desires for a seat and beautiful girl sitting beside us during whole journey. It is just like getting a beautiful wife in the beginning of your career. And most of the times both the situations are next to impossible. Beautiful girls also travel in the bus, but you hardly get any chance to sit beside them. You spend your whole journey just looking at them forget about talking to them. Sometimes situations may arise when you get a seat beside a girl whom you don’t like. You have no other option but to take that seat. Arrange marriage is based on the similar concept and you are helpless under those circumstances. In case we avoid taking that seat and look for an opportunity somewhere else, we take a risk and our future will remain uncertain till the time we get a seat, if we get one. Imagine yourself in a situation and a seat beside you is vacant. A beautiful girl comes and asks for your permission to sit beside. It is just like a girl proposing you in real life and this is a utopian concept for most of the bachelors like me.

Many times we find that the bus going to the same destination as yours suddenly overtakes you. The bus may not be crowded and quality of girls there may be better than that of your bus. This may be the bus you have left just in hope to get a better one or may be the next to the bus in which you are traveling. The above situation fits well both in our personal and professional life. And it is just another way of saying the famous adage “Grass is greener on the other side.” Most of us think that the company with which we are working for is the worst company we have ever seen and people are enjoying in other companies. Who knows the bus that has just crossed may meet an accident on its way. At the same time no body can guarantee that the bus in which you are traveling is safe. No body knows what lies ahead in our future. All we can do is try our best, look for the opportunities and give your 100% in any endeavor you perform. At the same time we should not complain for our present situation. We get anxious at the signals during our journey and get irritated depending on the conditions at that time. This situation is same as when we get anxious and became irascible by some fitful but evanescent problems in our life and think of them as the biggest impediment in the progress of our life.

Many a time it happens that a seat just beside a girl is vacant and you want to take that seat. But you offer that seat to old person traveling with you. Or a girl wants to sit beside you but offer that seat to an old person standing nearby. Thus your deference towards old people ruins your chances of sitting with each other. The essence of love marriage lies in the same concept where old persons can be replaced by our parents.

Your life is not totally in your hands. There are other persons in your life on which the progress of your life depends. Likewise in a bus your life is entirely in the hands of the driver and in the hands of God. And you cannot eschew from these situations. Conductor of the bus helps us in getting a seat in the journey, guiding us and giving us all the relevant information about a girl sitting in the bus. He resembles our friend in real life helping us in every possible way both in personal and professional life.

Some people prefer waiting for the next bus in spite of the one standing in front of them. But no body can assure you that the next bus won’t be crowded. This is same as waiting for some better opportunities in our life and leaving and disregarding the current ones either in personal or professional life. Some people who have time and perseverance do get better opportunities but no body can give you guarantee of the same and it all depends on the risk taking ability of the individual.

Thus in sum, getting a seat beside a beautiful girl in a bus which is not crowded and that can take you to your destination without any hindrance is highly quixotic idea and never applies to our life. All we get is a crowded bus, with some beautiful girls, where you have to put your diligent efforts just to secure a place and cover your whole journey just looking at them till the time you reach your destination.
